Pilot of this plane is Merian C. Cooper, director and producer of this movie. He was U.S. pilot on WWI. When was over, he decided to fight with bolsheviks on polish side. His grandgrandfather fight with British in gen.Pulaski's corp. Merian always wanted to pay off this debt. Polish-Soviet war was very dramatic,but succesful for Poland and whole Europe. 7th Kosciuszko's Escadrille (formed from American pilots) was great help in defending Lwow. THX Merian :)
