A very common exercise is to sing exactly what it is you are playing while playing. Steve Vai is one who frequents a recommendation to use this technique. If this is too difficult at the beginning, play long notes and try and sing along to it. Then move on to small melodies, and so on.

yea quick question ive been trying to train my ear and i juss needa ask if youve got any exercises to help me out to learn, right now im juss figuring out where all the notes are, yea after a year of playing im getting sick of tabs so if you can help thatd be great

If you're good enough to play this you don't need a tab. Learn it by ear. If you can't learn it by ear, you won't be able to learn it with a tab.

god..this song will never get old! is there any possible for me to get a tab for it? it would be really appreciated! i wish i was this amazing, and by the way Gustavo Guerra is way more amazing than mattrach. possibly the best ive ever heard
