Jerry Lewis was brought in later as a replacement through production for Victor Garber. He was not in the Original Cast.

A young woman named Vicki Lewis played the part of Gloria Thorpe. She also was on Broadway in the following productions: "Do Black Patent Leather Shoes Really Reflect Up?" as Virginia Lear in 1982; "The Wind in the Willows" as Mole in 1985; and "Chicago" as a replacement Velma Kelly in the 1996 revival.

I just looked it up in IBDB. You are wrong. The revival was in fact staged in 1994

Dancers ARE athletes. This was at the Marriott Marquis Theater on Broadway several years ago, or longer. The revival starred Jerry Lewis in his return to Broadway. It played for about 18 months, got good reviews and was a delight to see.
