Big Brother and the Holding Company aren't the best band in the world, sure. But I think it fits, and the jangling that reminds me of Jorma Kaukonen and George Harrison... It fits the scene! Monterey would have been blown away by the simplistic backing to such a fluctuating, powerful vocal work.

this performance gives me goosebumps. I cannot say that about too many singers. The incredible feeling she taps into is the showcase. She is a channel. An electrifying performance!!

and janis'voice is by far the most expressive, sensitive and powerful ever... that woman sure had some soul power in her... don't know much about her story but must have been rather intense...
