I definitely wouldn't say that dani california stole from it, its just a common chord progression. there are plenty heartbreakers songs that have the same chord progressions as plenty of other rock songs, and the same could be said about plenty of other rock bands new and old. despite the chords, dani california and this song are two totally different songs. however if I had to choose one...it would be this. rhcp got nothing on tom petty.

and YOU are just as much an idiot for getting pissed off at someone else's opinion (Even though Dani California did steal from this song, I do enjoy DC more then this. It doesn't mean this song sucks, it just means thats my personal preference)
