hey I never read the comic book once and never heard of it until the special edition dvd came out but I still watch the movie at least a few times a month...pretty damn awesome.

Indeed, it was three-hundred Spartans vs. thousands of Perisnas, and the Spartans won the battle morally. However, it was still an innacurate movie but an exciting one nonetheless.
I never knew it had a comic book, since I'm not into collecting things or reading pictures. XD

not "inaccurate" but... it's a movie based of a comic book which is based off of real events. There were no elephants or sorcery per say but the battle happened and the number of persians vs. spartans is accurate.
