Also, Elenore Powell always danced in flat shoes, unlike Ginger who danced always in high heels, a much harder task by far!

Got to agree YNGR, it is more the whole package of the films they made rather than just the dance routines. Fact is, though we are now used to seeing live action slip into a dance routine which augments the story, it was new when Fred and Ginger did it, they did it first and they still do it the best!

Hi Aimee. You'll see dance couples with far flashier moves, more acrobatics, and plenty of skill--even to present a dance or skating routine that is absolutely beautiful. But I have never seen emotion expressed as deeply through dance (and song) as these two could do it. Though Astaire with a couple of other partners (notably Cyd Charisse and Rita Hayworth) comes close.

Elenore Powell had nothing in way of of Ginger's beauty, artistry, screen presence and general ability to bring a film to life with her sassy charm. As good as Elanore was at dancing, in terms of acting and screen presence she could bore you to sleep in a matter of minutes!

Elenore Powell was better than both of them, at that time Elenore was the only woman alive that could out dance Fred.

Yes I know she was doing it backwards and in high heels, and thats no meant feat ( No Pun intented ) Have you eve seen her tap dancing on her own in flat shoes desigend for tap dancing? Much easier in flat shoes then Hogh heels where one runs the risk of rolling an ankle. She was a brilliant dancer in her day as was Gene Kelly, Fred Astair, Bing Crosby and the list could go on
