Why the LHC will not destroy the world. cosmic rays have been hitting the earth for billions of years. many of the collisions from these are at higher energies than the lhc. We are still here.
now if an absurd number of more higher energy collisions occurred in the past... Our very existence is evidence the LHC won't destroy the world.
If it does create a black hole, it will harmlessly dissipate or fly into outer space due to the energy of the collision.

REDNECK!

I don't think you know what a theory is. A theory is a set of facts that explains other sets of facts. It's like a law, but it doesn't need mathematical evidence, and it has a bit less regular evidence.
Basically, it's true.
Not that I think CERN will destroy the world.

Continued... If thats the way life is supposed to be, then thats horrible. I'd rather the LHC take the world out. I would also prefer you don't call me ignorant or a redneck.(I hate them all). And about your education comment, I'm only 16, I'm still in school. I can't do anything for humanity. Nor do I want to, or can I. back to the people. Its not that I don't trust their opinions and expertise. It's that I don't trust the reasons for it to cost 16 billion dollars.

Black Holes are theories too...

Look I was typing fast and I wasn't paying atention to spelling. But really, why do we need to know what will happen when we collide them. I mean its all well and good if we do know, but why do we need to? We spend so much money on things like this, but what does it really accomplish?(by the way thats not sarcasm, I really want to know what we accomplish). And I am displeased with this world. We're told to work hard, for what? So we can only work harder when we're older. Conitnued.....

Continued...If CERN doesn't "pop" and take the planet with it, will you please do something more constuctive for yourself and humanity. I would hate to think that the amount of time and energy spent on you was a waste. Continuing your education is strongly recommended.

If you are ever hoping that people will take you seriously, you might want to consider spelling and gramar checks of your statements before you let them loose, as it is an indicator of intelligence (or lack thereof). You come off sounding like an ignorant redneck half-wit that is just angry at the world. The people at these facilities are very intelligent and as such, I would obviously trust thier opinion over your mob mentality anyday. continued....

Of course a company called CERN isn't going to engage in activities that would end our world.
CERN
replace that C with a V?
VERN
now change the N and V's positioning?
NERV
NERV?!?!?!?!
Oh shi-

It broke as soon as they finised tested it. They hope to fix it to actually do the experiment in January. I hope it does create a sustained black hole, it would be awesome. It would take CERN with it. Its proof that we have the money to solve poverty and world hunger, but we would rather spend it on things that might not work. In total, this thing cost over 16 billion dollars. What a waste. |
