He was obviously shot...But, it will always be up for interpretation, just like anything in life...The perfect ending to the perfect show

Its really tough to figure out what might have happened. Maybe they are planning to make a movie out of this and just keeping it open? Clever way to end it though.

Thank you, Stead. In addition, there was Febby Petrullio ("College"), who would have killed Tony had Meadow not gotten in the way. Also, Richie Aprile plotted to have Tony whacked in Season 2, when he conspired with Junior. (Junior then turned against him.) Hence, the whole Meadow's-third-parking-attempt argument falls flat.

It looks like the Members Only guy followed AJ to the place, got in front of him so as not to arouse suspicion.

interesting theory but there were several times tony almost died... or at least more than 2.
1.When junior and his mother made an attempt on his life. (the black guys trying to shoot him)
2.Tony and Ralph fought to the death. (you cant argue that ralph wasnt trying to kill him, I mean c'mon, it was obvious)
3. Junior shooting tony.
4. A small but nevertheless attempt would be when the Vipers shot at chris and tony after stealing the wine. (or I am pretty sure they did)
thereby making this 5tms

I could have sworn the flashback to Bobby's quote was not at the beginning of this episode, but rather in the final scene of "Blue Comet." Tony has the flashback because he is holding the AR-10 firearm which Bobby gave him for his birthday in "Soprano Home Movies." The "Tony-died" crowd constantly misinterprets the flashback's function. It didn't foreshadow the last scene of the series; it highlighted Tony's preparation for his POSSIBLE death, due to the war with New York. |
