THIS IS NOT THE REMAKE NOR A GAME. This is the graphical demo that Square made for the PS3 when it first came out, to showcase what it (and they) were capable of.
I am secretly hoping for a remake, though. :)

with all due respects, ff7 was an excellent RPG but What i dont understand is why all the fanboys orgasm over the 'long due remake'. Final fantasy is a good genre the way it has new story lines each game and all these compilations just end up ruining the story itself, just like DOC and crisis core and FFX-2

You know what I think would be amazing? If they wont make a remake of FF7 just make a movie (like advent children) that actually follows the FF7 game storyline directly! Its an amazing story and totally cinematic! I really got my hopes up about Advent Children cos I didnt realise it was set afterwards at first. And dont get me wrong it was cool, but I wish I could just watch the FF7 story with some high spec graphics...I could die happy.

im gonna receive a lotta shit for saying this, but i personally did not like FF7. ive beaten 1-12, excluding 11 but i played it, and 7 was really toward the bottom of the list of favorites for me. The story wasnt very appealing, the visuals were not very good, which i understood at the time of its release on the PS1. But ive beaten it, 100%, and i wasnt impressed with most aspects of it. Never understood why people enjoyed it so much...

is this in the works?...been awhile since i played the original but if they do a remake will it be same storyline , weapons, characters, etc...and just better graphics, playability..or is this all a fuckin dream?...i think the only way to make the game better is update it with much needed graphics...they give cars a facelift all the time..why not this classic..

is bye far my favourite games i musta spent over like 6 months alll added up every time im playd on completed this game from 2000 to early this year last time i playd it and it never gets old seem to find saink new on here every time i play but prob wont do it no more haha

No, it's actually a PS3 tech demo from several years ago at E3 (before the PS3 was released). It later appeared as an FMV in Crisis Core, but with added dialogue. The above video is actually of the PS3 rendering the clip in realtime.
