Pau 24 -- Toulon 23 A scandalous match with an amateur referee, with few professional games behind him. At the beginning of the match he whistled a mysterious and too quicky penalty try against Toulon. Few minutes later he yellow carded George Gregan for talking too much, Gregan was constantly attacked on the rucks and the ref was blind. The Pau team made its match-of-the-year and wanted to win against the leader, after having lost against Agen or Racing Paris. Then just before the half-time, the flanker Costanzo of Pau rumble on Toulon's hooker Philip Fitzgerald who was not offside because there was no maul. The following is a total crunch for 3 minutes, even the benches enters on the fight. Tana Umaga came on the field to quiet the situation, carrying water and calm down the round and refused to listen to the referee whose asking him to go out. And he will be red carded for that ! The results of the fight was : - A yellow card for the Pau's flanker Damien Costanzo who light on the fight. - A yellow card to Toulon's hooker Philip Fitzgerald for fight - An unbelievable red card for Tana Umaga ! - A red card for Saimone Taumoepeau for kick on a man on the ground, things that Saimone never did. Toulon started the second half time at 12 players versus 14, and finished with 14 players vs 16 on the field, counting the ref with a Pau shirt. At the 72th minute, the referee won't accept a try of Toulon's center Mafi Kefu. Andrew Mehrtens will miss a drop at the 78th. And a lot to say on amateurs referees past months on French Second Division games. And Toulon is not the only club to criticise this, Racing president, and others clubs did the same. On the video you can see 4 Toulon's players on a Pau player. But joined screenshots of another TV also shows 4 Pau's on 1 Toulon winger... Agen 15 - Mont de Marsan 15 A very hard, limit brutal game. With little fights but nothing serious. I saw it on TV, the Agen's hooker Djalil Narjissi is known for his provocations but, last week end, he headbutted, punched etc... all the match, from the first to the last minute, and just have a yellow card as a montois who just can't get enough and who have been sin binned with... One more time the referee was inconstent, he could never slow down the overexcited players and as usual, it get high to the meltdown. Just after the end of the match, Narjissi and a montois starts the third round. As fans were running on the field (it's usual on a lot of little stadiums in France to celebrate the players). That will quickly begin a scandalous rumble. Few fans enters on the ring to fight. A montois player is seriously injured to the eye, his career could end there. An Agen's fan seems to be known by the stadium security, have been injured and transported to the hospital. Narjissi firstable denied having spit on a montois, saying he had been agressed during all the game, then he changed his declaration to admit that he spit but didn't want to shot the player.... All that you never want to see on a rugby field. All happened with incompetent amateurs referees.
